Your Money is Safe and Sound at IHMVCU
Mar 20, 2020 | Allan Hosack, CFO
As we all make adjustments to our personal and professional lives to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we know there are a lot of questions and feelings of uncertainty. We want to provide some clarity specific to your money and accounts at IHMVCU.
Please know, we’re here for you!
IHMVCU is safe and financially strong. We’re a well-capitalized institution with strong earnings and extra cash on hand. While no one could’ve imagined the impact of COVID-19, we have prepared for the unexpected and are in a position of financial strength; ready to handle the road ahead. On a more personal note, of course, your deposits are insured up to a minimum of $250,000 by the National Credit Union Association, a U.S. government agency.
Beginning on March 18, we took the unprecedented step of closing all branch lobbies and our headquarters, and assigning as many team members as possible to work remotely from their homes. As with most businesses and financial institutions, we did
this for the health and safety of our team members and you, our members, and the community. We’ll follow local, state and national agencies and health officials to determine when we should consider returning to normal operations.
Even with our limited service, we’re still here for you. During this time, we have several options for you to conduct your usual credit union business including:
- Normal drive up hours at all IHMVCU locations
- Live teller support at our branches with virtual teller machines
- 24/7 online and mobile access. Not signed up for these services yet? It’s quick and easy to enroll.
- In-person support by appointment by calling 309-793-6200 or 800-722-0333, press 2.
- Regarding support; we have added extra service representatives to meet the increased demand whether you contact by secure online chat,
secure messaging in Online Branch or by phone.
We know many of you are feeling the impact of this pandemic in your wallets in a very real way too. We understand and again, we’re here for you. For those who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, we have programs available to assist affected members such as short-term loans, loan skip-a-payment, and other options. For assistance, please 309-793-6200 or 800-722-0333, press 3.
We will get through this together.
